Key Elements of the Appeal
Home visits, special gatherings and personal phone calls were all created to have a large team reach out to share fellowship, friendship and information about the project. The entire Appeal Leadership Team wrote their personal faith statements which were comilled in a devotional book and used by the entire congregation as they prayerfully considered their gift to the Appeal.

A special worship celebration and festive congregational event for all members was a highlight of the four month Appeal.

A word from the Interim Senior Minister

"The James Company provided the resources of faith which Colonial Church needed to address the challenges of a building in need of restoration and the loss of a Senior Minister and several clergy staff.  So often churches will play the waiting game until new leadership is in place.  At an early meeting with representatives of the James Company there was a stirring of enthusiasm among laity and this Interim Minister.  God's Spirit was sought and enlisted.  Several of us were guided to invite a broader participation of key lay members of the congregation.  An excitement began to build and an ambitious goal was set.  Carefully planned meetings built around prayer and  personal sharing were held.  Not only did we exceed our goal but we experienced the renewal of a vitality which prepared this congregation for a new chapter filled with promise and possibility.
